mismatched

p5.jpg I like things that are different without being out of place, things that stand out without being too weird.

Actually, I take that back. Weird is great.

I’ve had these shorts for a few summers, always pairing them with a plain colored tee and pearl earrings. This season, soft shorts seem to be everywhere from the runway to Target. I don’t hate it.

p7.jpgAnyways

I pulled these cute little babies out of my dresser the other morning, and could not (for the life of me), find my favorite white blouse.

I literally tore up my entire room, dug through every drawer in my dresser, and even scoured the deep depths of my closet. It was nowhere.

Even though I’m still a little bitter about the loss of a very good friend blouse, that wild goose chase led me to something even better: a wonderful mismatched pairing of floral and stripes and plenty of darling.

The little navy dots on the shorts go perfectly with the stripes in one of my favorite tees. If heaven was a shirt, it would be this one. (I like it so much that I bought it in every color last summer)

Sadly, it’s all sold out on American Eagle, but I did a little research and found ya’ll an (almost) exact copy on Land’s end. Just check the outfit details all the way at the bottom!

Also, I found these pretty gems at Old Navy for TWO DOLLARS. At a price like that, you just can’t say no: grab yourself a pair before they’re all gone!

See how great adding a little mismatch to your life outfit can be?

I hope your week is full of weird in the most wonderful way. After all, what’s better than a little of the unexpected?

Love,

Maddie

*sorry for the “similar” friends, all the originals are sold out!

hey June

If April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring?

June

Every bride’s dream wedding date, the start of summer (and freedom), and strawberry picking season.

June also brings along it’s own flowers. For me (and lots of other girls), it carries with it a different type of blossom, the kind that flounces around your knees and gives you the perfect excuse not to wear pants.

I give you the sundress, my uniform whenever oversized t-shirts and cutoff shorts are not appropriate.

This one happens to be one of my very favorites. Who knew that a spontaneous shopping trip to Forever 21 and nine dollars could result in this darling dress?

I also like this necklace. Alot.

Let’s just say I’ve worn it enough to make all of the beads fall off.

Obviously I fixed this little crisis.

Because the world isn’t made of smiles and rainbows, deals like that don’t last long. See similar (and equally cute) dresses here and here.

Wishing that May bring you lots of leftover flowers.

(and of course plenty of sundresses)
