If this were The Sound of Music and I were Julie Andrews, all of these things would be in a song, and I would be singing on a snow topped mountain instead of a dirt road. Anyways, you know what else I like? FOXES.

Foxes are fast and sleek and red and wonderful. I love them more than any other animal on God’s green earth. Foxes (NOT the real live version) are also wonderful things to wear. Thankfully, lots of stores have caught on to this fact recently. Not so thankfully, my wallet is in pain. Lately my favorite foxes have been the ones on my ears. My wonderful sister made a day (hint hint mine) when a package arrived at school with these pretty little things inside. I wouldn’t be lying if I told you I’ve worn them (almost) every day.

Another favorite thing is this outfit. It seems to be the most versatle thing I’ve ever decided to wear, morping into the perfect interview, presentation, and even snow-trampling outfit. It’s thrown together with old things and new, but I’ve added links to (almost) perfect copies below.

Happy spring

(or should I say snow day)

the little red dress

The little black dress had been a classic since the days of Coco Chanel. With limitless versatility and flattering qualities, it seems almost impossible to go wrong in choosing it for any event. Unless that little dress is red.

I like to say that red is the new black.

With a pop of color, the red dress instantly lights up a room. And since red is a power color, what better hue to wear to a job interview?

I found this little red dress for $12.

Let me repeat that for you: $12.

(you can find some amazing deals by keeping an eye on American Eagle clearance)

Since that incredible purchase last winter, this dress has traveled to both coasts of the United States. It has been worn to piano recitals and job interviews, and has even graced the font of the local section in the city newspaper.

Let’s just say I like it. A lot.

Let’s go from head to toe.

I styled this little red gem with my favorite accessory: pearls (and lots of them!).

The flutter sleeves give a darling, feminine touch.

A small, red, tie front sash cinches the waist for a finished look.

These Mary-Jane style heels (from Target!) are my very favorite dress-up shoes. They give the whole outfit a charmingly vintage vibe.

I styled this particular outfit for an interview, but it could easily be worn for almost any occasion. When the weather gets colder, I like to add black tights for a Christmas-party perfect look.

Enjoy your last few weeks of summer (it’s gone by WAY too fast), have a beautiful day, and check out American Eagle clearance (it’s all 50% off right now, and you’re bound to get lucky like I did)!
